In the PawsPal style, we use a vertical poster format with generous, irregular margins. This means I need to position the pet so they feel grounded, not floating awkwardly in space. I look at the angle of the head and the line of the body. If the dog is looking to the right, I’ll leave a little more “breathing room” on the right side of the canvas so they have space to look into.

Sometimes, this means gently cropping a photo or adjusting the posture slightly so the final artwork feels balanced and intentional. It’s this thoughtful composition that elevates a simple drawing into a piece of art ready for your wall.
